Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio raided several Pei Wei Chinese Restaurants on March 4 picking up 26 illegal aliens and looking for hundreds more after being tipped off by an insider at the restaurants that they were hiring illegal aliens. The Sheriff's office issued a press release saying that the investigation started last June and went on for months. The results were that over 100 employees in Arizona may be using false and stolen identification to secure employment there.

Lengthy records checks and surveillance found that of the 800 employees in Arizona, at least 121 of them in Maricopa County appear to have falsified documents, including social security numbers, to secure employment at
the business. Search warrants were served on four of the restaurants. Locations included one in Tempe, two in Phoenix and one in Fountain Hills. The corporate headquarters in North Scottsdale was also searched.

Supporters of illegal aliens in the area shouted out to those led out in handcuffs not to say anything as they were led to a police transport. An activist on the scene confronted sheriff Joe and gave an interview to the local TV station asking why he doesn't focus on harder crimes like murder. Sheriff Joe responded to her on camera at the scene and you can see the video below.

Just days later, Americans lined up to fill the jobs that were left open after the illegal aliens were arrested. One of them, Jacquelynn Paul, has a master's degree and is a former business owner who has fallen on hard times. She applied for an $8 an hour job as a cashier at Pei Wei because she has a family and has to do what she has to do to put food on the table for her kids. Many others sounded the same refrain, they needed the jobs and there were few out there to get. You can watch the interviews below.

This is a similar refrain to the people who lined up to fill the jobs opened when agents found 700 illegal aliens working at the Crider Inc. Chicken Plant in Stillmore, Georgia in September 2006. The company was forced to offer higher pay and benefits instead of the low slave wages they offered to the illegal workers. In an effort to support the illegal aliens over American workers, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) sued ICE over the Crider Inc raids in November 2006. By December, hundreds of Americans were clamoring for the jobs, within two months it was found that the plant was employing Americans who needed jobs, including some who were homeless and had been to prison and were having trouble finding work.

Unfortunately for us - and the Americans looking for a job - our leaders won't watch the video below and will continue to keep spewing the line that these are "jobs Americans won't take". It shows just how out of touch they are with what is really going on in this country.
