Mandatory Training At University Of Delaware 'All Whites Are Racist'... Including Our University President And Staff

Bookmark and Share

So, if you were planning on sending your kid to the University of Delaware you should know that one of their mandatory indoctrinations is the university's Office of Residence Life Diversity Education Training, in which it states:

Patrick Harker
Obvious Racist,
University President
Patrick Harker
"A RACIST: A racist is one who is both privileged and socialized on the basis of race by a white supremacist (racist) system. 'The term applies to all white people (i.e., people of European descent) living in the United States, regardless of class, gender, religion, culture or sexuality. By this definition, people of color cannot be racists, because as peoples within the U.S. system, they do not have the power to back up their prejudices, hostilities, or acts of discrimination.'"

You read that right. "The term applies to all white people (i.e., people of European descent) living in the United States, regardless of class, gender, religion, culture or sexuality."

and you also did read this right "people of color cannot be racists".

That's funny because I've seen some groups like the Black Panthers and the Mexica Movement who are pretty damn racist and calling for the extinction of the white race.

The thing is, this isn't just some statement or a little comment in some obscure manual at the university. All students are required to take this "diversity training" and admit that "all whites are racist" and that if they are white they can receive "treatment".

Thanks to Ruth of Illegal Protest who dug up those responsible and allowed me to do a little more digging into who these people are.

Jim Tweedy
Associate Director of Residence Life
Jim Tweedy
To the left you see Doctor Jim Tweedy, Associate Director of Residence life at University of Delaware. This is the dirtbag responsible for these statements. Here's from his bio at the University.
I place a heavy emphasis on individual growth at all levels of staff and seek to build a strong sense of community among the full department staff. I expend most of my intellectual energies on establishing sound practices toward the delivery of specific learning outcomes to each residence hall student.

I have been at the University of Delaware for nine years and have seven years professional experience at Montana State University.

...

I also have been trained as an ally and as a diversity education trainer.

Jim Tweedy can be reached at: (302) 831-1201 or via email at tweedy@udel.edu

Kathleen Kerr
Director of Residence Life
Doctor Kathleen Kerr
The other responsible dirtbag is the one seen at left, Doctor Kathleen G. Kerr, Director of Residence Life at the University of Delaware.

From her bio we find out that she has been spreading these beliefs and "treatments" for over 17 years and in some capacity in Residence Life since 1998:

in 1998 became the Assistant Director of Residence Life. I also completed my dissertation and thus, my doctorate. A stint as the Associate Director followed and in November of 2001, I became the Director of Residence Life.

Doctor Kathleen Kerr can be reached at: (302) 831-1201 or via email at kkerr@udel.edu

Of course both are obviously racists themselves by their own admission and because of the skin color they were born with.

The director of legal and public advocacy for Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE), Samantha Harris, sent the following in a letter to University of Delaware President Patrick Harker (who is obviously a racist, just look at his picture, he's white!).

"Somehow, the University of Delaware seems terrifyingly unaware that a state-sponsored institution of higher education in the United States does not have the legal right to engage in a program of systematic thought reform. The First Amendment protects the right to freedom of conscience – the right to keep our innermost thoughts free from governmental intrusion. It also protects the right to be free from compelled speech," said a letter from for

I've heard time and time again how those on the right are the fascists, but how much more fascist can you get than forcing people to state something that is not only incorrect, but someones "pet pony" of a belief system because you are forcing them to?

At least we do have sane groups like FIRE on our side. They condemned the program and called for its dismantling.

The "shocking program of ideological reeducation," which the school itself defines as a "treatment" for students' incorrect attitudes and beliefs, is nothing less than "Orwellian," FIRE said.

The school requires its approximately 7,000 residence hall students "to adopt highly specific university-approved views on issues ranging from politics to race, sexuality, sociology, moral philosophy and environmentalism."

"FIRE is calling for the total dismantling of the program, which is a flagrant violation of students' rights to freedom of conscience and freedom from compelled speech," the organization said.

I'd just like to remind the University of Delaware that

YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE TEACHING PEOPLE
ABOUT MATH AND STUFF
NOT FORCE BELIEF SYSTEMS ON THEM!

You really do need to go read the full article at WND, it is that unbelievable.

College really does seem to be worthless these days. I'd suggest that if you are looking to hire someone, you actually discount those with a college education as being slightly less qualified, since obviously they have been tainted by idiots like Patrick Harker, Jim Tweedy and Kathleen Kerr.

The eerie thing is that university President Patrick Harker, from 1991-1992, was a Special Assistant to the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Could he actually be working for racist groups like La Raza? Could he be using the super secret mind control programs he learned at the FBI to destroy the white community on their behalf?

Inquiring, racist minds want to know...

Excerpts from a response by a former RA at the university to the wingnut thinktank FIRE's allegations:

http://www.t-g.com/blogs/brianmosely/entry/14550/

...Not only has FIRE grossly misconstrued what is actually occurring at the university but they have added unnecessarily loaded language in their presentation of the issue which has further incited the criticism being foisted upon Delaware.

To make clear before people paint me as a mouthpiece for the university: I am no longer working for the Office of Residence Life and I left voluntarily at the end of last semester. Also, I can only speak from my own experience and my observations of the system as a whole, and my statements do not necessarily reflect the opinions of other RAs.

...The university does have in place an extensive program to promote tolerance among its students living in the residence halls. Yes, it has a list of "competencies" it hopes students achieve in their time at the university and it does hope students embrace a notion of "citizenship." However, there is no "comprehensive manipulation" as FIRE claims.

FIRE's main allegations for misconduct have to do with the university supposedly promoting a view that white students are to be encouraged by RAs to feel remorseful of their racist, supremacist past. This is simply not true and was never taught to me. I was never instructed to teach residents about this.

...I could go on and on with examples from my semester as an RA. From my first-hand experience, FIRE's allegations are largely unfounded and serve only to stir a pot that is essentially non-existent. I truly hope the FIRE's Web site re-evaluates its statements and tones down its rhetoric as to prevent the university from taking flak it does not deserve.

I once had a Professor (PhD Biochemistry) who explained to me that a person with a Bachelor's Degree knew a little bit about a lot of things, a person with a Master's knew more about less, and when you received your Doctorate, you knew everything there was to know about absolutely nothing.

Seems to me these young PhDs have focused their Electron Microscope on a sub-atomic-sized demographic and applied its aberant behavior to all. Sadly, this is less than rare behavior for those who spend their lives in academia. One should spend a lifetime living something before being qualified to pass judgement on same.

Study, yes. Teach our youth to observe, question, analyze, and act? Certainly. Express your opinion? Guaranteed by our Constitution and protected by the blood of our Military. But please give us all a break and don't teach our youth that your opinion is gospel.

Easy fix for the U of D problem:
1. Stop giving contributions to school with racist programs.

2. Don't enroll your kids at that school.

3. Sue the school using the same laws that protect every other race or ethnic group.

Money will always level the playing field. If they want diversity and fairness they must actually teach it, not blame another race. This only serves to strengthen prejudice and harbor bad will. That program is a slap in the face to everyone who has paid monies to send there children to U of D.
