Here's the facts folks. The debate on global warming is not over. While it can be shown that there have been slight temperature rises, there have been temperature fluctuations throughout Earth's history. From the extreme cold to the extreme hot... and guess what, there were no cars or industrial factories spewing stuff into the atmosphere when these occurred.
This global warming debate is nothing more than a sham in order to advance people's careers. From Al Gore, to the "feel goodedness" that Leonardo DiCaprio gets, it is just one more reason for them to get in front of the cameras.
Now John Stossel brings us a great little "Give Me A Break" piece on Global Warming and points out that the data you are receiving from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the group of "2000 scientists who agree" that global warming is being caused by humans, include members of Greenpeace and other activists groups as well as the governments that have supported the Kyoto treaty. This should not come as a shock, as some of their claims are ridiculous.
The most telling of the data in this video segment is that global warming - as displayed in Al Gore's movie An Inconvenient Truth - shows two graphs that correspond. They are graphs showing that carbon emissions precede global temperature increases, thus showing a cause and effect. Stossel's team though shows that if you actually bring the graphs together, by time,
the global temperature increases before the carbon (seen at right, where blue is temperature).
Now I'm not a scientist, but here is my theory. As the Earth's temperature increased, this increased foliage. When the temperature went back down, as foliage died, you had an abundance of carbon as that is what plants turn into when they die.
This fact alone that carbon increases followed global increases in temperature - rather than the reverse, which is what global warming zealots would have you believe - should be enough for you to remain skeptical of their claims.
In addition this video shows that some of the scientists they claim are working for the IPCC have actually resigned because the IPCC is making all sorts of false claims and then signing all the names of the scientists to it without them having actually looked at the statements they are making.
To me it sounds like a dictatorship of activists who are fooling more and more people each day. Today people believe what is marketed at them... and global warming being caused by humans surely is being heavily marketed.
