Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio in Arizona has said that recent actions by the DHS under the Obama Administration will not slow his enforcement of immigration laws. Recently the DHS scaled back the 287g program in hopes of curtailing local law enforcement from actually being effective at capturing illegal aliens. The "toughest sheriff in America" though is not backing down and says that he will still detain illegal aliens under Arizona state laws already on the books.
In the past few years Arpaio has identified 32,000 illegal aliens in his county when arrested for other offenses. This is costing the county money, and rather than receiving an award, Arpaio is the main target of the political machine, race based groups like La Raza and open borders advocates like the Southern Poverty Law Center.
Arpaio recently was highlighted in a report by Lou Dobbs and did an interview with Glenn Beck on the recent actions by the DHS. You can see both videos below.

Calling himself “the poster boy” for those who support the enforcement of federal immigration laws, Sheriff Joe Arpaio said he will continue to arrest individuals who are in the country illegally, even if Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) does not renew the 287(g) agreement that the Maricopa County (Ariz.) Sheriff’s Office has operated under for the past two years.
“We’ve been doing it for two years and have been very successful, but I guess they don’t like to enforce illegal immigration laws,” Arpaio told CNSNews.com. “[It] doesn’t make any difference. I’m still going to continue my programs, regardless of what the feds like or don’t like.”

“When we come across illegal aliens, we arrest them,” Arpaio said. “That’s the part they don’t like, and that’s the one they took away.”

Well Sheriff Arpaio appears to be an excellent police officer. We need to understand his environment full of gangs from Mexico so he has to adapt and behave this way and unfortunalely the illegal ones that have no criminal record get treated no differently. However, his mind is a military one so he does not differentiate this difference as a result the fed gov had no choice but taking this power away from him................

Last, Glenn Beck is such a HYPOCRATE!! in his programs he would be smashing the federal gov and with Sheriff Arpaio he plays the opposite side in a way disrespecting the man.......it appears this is a psychological issue for Glenn Beck. GB is threatened by Sheriff Arpaio's work and his attitued where he can do things where GB just talks about it.........

I APPROVE OF WHAT JOE ARPIAO HAS DONE AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO IN ARIZONA. I JUST WISH THAT EVERY CITY AND STATE LAW ENFORCEMENT DIVISION WOULD DO AS JOE HAS DONE. WE WOULD NOT HAVE THE PROBLEMS WITH ILLEGALS AND THEIR CRIMES IF THEY HAD DID IT 20 YEARS AGO.
WE NEED JOE IN THE WHITE HOUSE, OR AS THE HEAD OF HOMELAND SECURITY AND GIVEN THE RIGHTS TO DO IT WITHOUT CONSTRAIN BY THE CORRUPT USA GOVERNMENT.
