Federal Reserve Transparency Act - HR 1207 - Update - Is Your Rep Onboard?

Bookmark and Share

Back in March I reported on HR 1207, the Federal Reserve Transparency Act brought forth by Ron Paul to audit the Federal Reserve. This simple piece of legislation that is no longer than 1 page long would remove restrictions that currently tie the hands of Congress into even seeing what the Federal Reserve is doing with all of the money they are printing.

As Americans - and as the representatives we send to Washington DC (who apparently are also Americans, but I'm starting to wonder) - we have a right and duty to be able to see where our money is being spent and how outside forces are impacting our inflation, special interests and businesses. The whole point of government is national defense and ensuring an equal playing field for all American citizens and legal residents. The government has gone too far and it's time for us to get back to basics.

At the time of my reporting in mid-March there were only 28 co-sponsors to this bill. Since that time others have spread the word far and wide (and I've tried to do my own part with the little video below which is now featured on RonPaul.com) to get people to call their reps and demand that they start doing their job and co-sponsor HR 1207. Watch the video below where Ron Paul explains HR 1207 and you can read the text and see the co-sponsors at this link.

I am happy to report that there are now - as of this writing - 111 co-sponsors to this bill. That's more than 1/4th of the whole of the House of Representatives! However there are many in congress that haven't signed on and I implore you to call your rep now and tell them to sponsor HR 1207. It's our rights as Americans to know what is going on and Congress' right to know as well.

If you don't see your reps name (below the video below) call them and ask them why? They have had plenty of time to sign on and their act of not doing so shows that they continue to support the secret actions of the private organization of the Federal Reserve. A private organization that has a direct impact on every American Citizens' wallet and future. If they are on the list consider calling them and thanking them and urge them to pressure others in the halls of congress to sign on to HR 1207.
