Under current law the Government Accountability Office is hamstrung in doing an actual audit of the Federal Reserve. Congressman Ron Paul of Texas has introduced HR 1207 - The Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009. This bill would allow the Government Accountability Office to audit the Federal Reserve. This bill is in the interest of all Americans, it's not Republican or Democrat, Conservative or Liberal, it is truly of a bi-partisan concern.

How any representative could say "no" to this bill is beyond me. It would be like them saying that they don't want to know what the Federal Reserve is doing and how they are printing and spending money that directly impacts every American.
