This video below from Fred Thompson sheds light on the absurdity of the current 8 trillion dollars in bailouts that the government is giving away. He also notes the total crap that the constant stimulus packages are.

I agree on the idiocy of the stimulus packages. Basically what they are is appeasement to the taxpayer. "Hey here's $300 bucks, now stop complaining when we saddle you with $15,000+ in additional debt that we give directly to our rich buddies." It really is a sham and you should absolutely snarl at the check when you receive it because it is total crap.

As for Fred, he only seems good when he's scripted.
