Urgent Calls Needed To Save E-Verify

Lawmakers are trying to allow the E-Verify program, that checks the validity of legal working status of employees, to expire without renewing it. This program cuts down on illegal aliens getting jobs. We need to save this program and your calls are urgently needed now!

Last week Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) attempted to bring E-Verify to the Senate floor for a vote, but, once again, Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) has blocked E-Verify and won't let it pass unless he is allowed to add hundreds of thousands of foreign workers to our struggling economy. E-Verify, an inexpensive, effective, and indispensable work-site enforcement tool that instantly and electronically verifies the legal work documentation of new employees, has proven its worth as an essential tool in turning off the job magnet that encourages so many to enter the country illegally. If the program is not reauthorized, advances that we have made in the state legislatures such as Arizona and Mississippi with E-Verify as a cornerstone will be destroyed. Additionally, a new rule requiring federal government contractors to use E-Verify will be rendered worthless. If Senator Menendez is successful in destroying E-Verify, the United States will have lost one of its most effective t!
ools in thwarting illegal immigration.

In an outrageous act toward American workers, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) has turned a blind eye to Senator Menendez's actions and seems content to let E-Verify die. We have to let Senator Reid know immediately that the American people will not tolerate the Senate permitting E-Verify to die, especially after the House overwhelmingly passed a five year reauthorization of E-Verify with only two members voting against it. We are calling upon you to help us make sure that this doesn't happen.

Urgent Action Items:

Please, call your Senators and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's office (202-224-3542) today and every day until they bring E-Verify to the Senate Floor.

Tell your Senators to insist that their leadership not allow Senator Menendez to kill E-Verify and to bring H.R. 6633 to the Senate floor.

Call Senator Reid's office and tell him you want H.R. 6633 brought to the Senate Floor immediately with no strings attached.

Please call today!!! Call toll free and the operator will transfer you to any US senator or Rep!
1-00-828-0498 Be patient. Their phones are ringing off the hooks for the bailout and E-Verify -- I called today and plan to call several times tomorrow. Many of the offices only ask for your ZIP CODE and they keep a tally of how many calls support/oppose a particular bill. If this bill passes, I will vote out both of my US senator's! Call 1-800-828-0498 and ask for your US Senators.
HR 6633 passed the House in JULY. There is no excuse for not having voted on this bill unless they're purposely trying to let it die, which is the case. Make sure you ask for Sen. Menendez of NJ's office. That traitor bum should be voted out of office. Find your elected officials at: www.vote-smart.org
