The US Conference of Catholic Bishops - the same group who declared that you must be in favor of illegal immigration or you will go to hell - is holding a 4 day conference in Washington DC and they are planning on lobbying Congress for amnesty for illegal aliens.
From the press release by The Bishops they note that Cardinal Roger Mahony, a huge pro illegal alien activist will be laying out plans on how they can organize against Americans and for illegal aliens.
In his keynote address on opening night, Cardinal Roger Mahony of Los Angeles will speak on the current national immigration debate and give participants a blueprint for engaging in the debate and creating the political will for comprehensive reform.
A little more shocking is that Julie Myers, head of ICE, will be attending and giving a speech to the conference. I also assume she will be hanging out with them and allowing them to influence her even more than she already is in favor of illegal immigration. She'll probably utter these words behind closed doors "I have to make a few busts you know. I have to at least try to justify why I have a job, but I assure you I'll keep these busts small like they currently are."
In the below video Bishop Jaime Soto, who serves on the "migration committee" of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops, gives us a shifty-eyed view of what this group is trying to do. Note how he avoids the words amnesty at all costs. Note how he never looks right at the camera, but avoids it as the lies pour forth in hopes that the American people will fall for them.
When questioned, Soto says the immigration system is "broken", yet he was involved in the '86 amnesty which "broke" the system. When questioned on that, he makes the '86 amnesty seem rosy and having nothing to do with the situation we are in now.
You can't have it both ways "Bishop"
Either the '86 amnesty was great or it was the cause of our current broken system. It is the only significant change that has occurred in the last 20 years. Of course he would never admit that an amnesty is bad because he has ulterior motives - along with all members of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops - and that is to flood our nation with illegal aliens who will attend Catholic churches and donate to them.
If the United States falls as a nation, it's not a big loss to the US Conference of Catholic Bishops, because in their view their religion will endure even without the United States and continue to soak up money from the poor.
More from the press release:
Comprehensive immigration reform will be a major topic at the 2008 National Migration Conference, "Renewing Hope, Seeking Justice," to be held July 28-31 at the Hilton Washington Hotel.
"The issue of immigration is one of the most controversial domestic concerns facing our country," said Kevin Appleby, director of Migration and Refugee Policy at the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. "The Holy Father spoke about the human side of the issue several times during his April visit. The conference will examine the issue in-depth and hopefully provide conference participants more insight into it and how the Church can make a positive contribution to the national debate."
On Tuesday, July 29, Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Immigration and Customs Enforcement Julie Myers will speak and answer questions from participants on the recent government enforcement raids around the country.
