Below is a report on the Campo Minutemen Fourth of July picnic on the border with Monica Ramos, Duncan D. Hunter, Chris Simcox and more.
Thanks to Borderwatch at No More Invasion for posting the images and report:
---
Monica was forced to leave the home in Texas and she and her two younger sons are living in a one bedroom apartment in Phoenix.
Her old son, who has a very hard time with the situation is staying with family members. Her youngest is suffering from un diagnosed kidney ailment. She can not get medical attention for him as she has lost her health insurance and is not (yet) poor enough for public assistance. Congressman Culberson has arranged for her to take him to a children's hospital in Texas. She will leave for the hospital next week.
Duncan D Hunter spoke, noting that the American Military was securing border in other countries, our president refuses to close the border at home. He feels we have 10 years to resolve this problem or we risk losing our sovereignty. His Dad's bill for 800 miles of border fence has been watered down but his father is committed to building the 370 miles of fence in California before the end of the year.
Construction has begun at Smugglers Gulch
Many Minutemen checked out Kingfish's thumb and and shook his hand. Gabriel joked that in a few years the story would grow so that he got his thumb bit off. Someone even sent in $50 to Kingfish for his good work. Many old Minutemen friends were there.
Tim Donnelly was a welcome site. He founded the CA MDCD and was a great leader. Hopefully, he will be back!

As a sidenote to those who don't know, Kingfish was assaulted and had his thumb bitten by an illegal alien supporter in June, 2008.

Kingfish violated the Minuteman SOP. He purposefully violated the SOP that the leader of the Westminister Rally handed out before the rally started. Kingfish endangered himself and the crowd, and left everyone open to being harassed by police, all for attention.
Kingfish left the public spot where everyone was supposed to be demonstrating, entered private property, and instigated the assault that took place on him. He is supposed to be a 'leader' yet gave all Minutemen a bad name that day.
Relax, Kingfish, you did not need to steal the day just because Little Dog was invited to speak at the Santa Clarita rally in your place.
Quit breaking the law and giving everyone a bad name.

Give me a break. Take your politics within the movement elsewhere while the rest of us actually try to get something done.
Your petty bickering that I constantly hear from all sides (not just yours) is tiring and hurts our cause more than anything Congress is - or is not - doing. The rest of the public hearing about things like that now thinks to themselves "why the hell do I want to get myself involved when it is going to cause more grief in my life?"
Grow up. Do you realize how childish you all sound?

I'm not sure if this is just a misunderstanding or if the Campo MM are trying to take credit for this event, but this was not a Campo Minuteman event. The Campo MM were invited and a few of their members were present for a portion of the day but this was not their event.
MCDC and Border Patrol Auxillary under Carl Braun's leadership are the ones who deserve the bulk of the credit for this fantastic event. Chelene Nightingale of Save Our State MC'd the event and was responsible for bringing in many of the speakers and the entertainment. There were many Patriots involved in putting it together.
The event wouldn't have been the same without the presence of the Shaw and Ramos families. Many thanks to them for attending and giving us inspiration.
