If you missed D.A. King's Veterans Day column entitled "Illegal aliens have a better lobby than U.S. military veterans" in the Athens Banner Herald you really must read it. It shows the ridiculous state of the way our government treats illegal aliens and gives them benefits that even those who sacrificed for their country don't receive. King says:
One example: Since 2003, the Veterans Administration has had a medical care eligibility means test for American military veterans. The American Journal of Public Health reported last month that more than one million vets have no insurance or access to VA medical care.
But, because of a federal mandate, American taxpayers - including veterans - routinely pay for no-cost medical care for people who reside in the United States illegally.

It is an absolutely disgusting thing to see a veteran suffering while we have illegal aliens marching in our streets and demanding even more handouts.
Bernard over at A Certain Slant of Light has done a little more digging as well and brought forth some comparison numbers on how much is spent on vets vs. illegal aliens.
