The Chicago & Midwest Minutemen rallied this past weekend supporting Waukegan, Illinois and their city council which is looking at putting some of its law enforcement personnel through the Department of Homeland Security 287(g) program.

The 287(g) program allows local law enforcement to screen inmates and others for their legal status and - working with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) - have those inmates deported rather than sitting in a US jail eating up US taxpayer dollars.

Illegal Aliens and their supporters in the area have threatened a boycott of all businesses in the area in protest of the city councils actions should the vote go in favor of implementing 287(g). Also word has been spreading that illegal aliens in the area are making claims that they will result to violence should the measure pass .

Our good friends the Freedom Folks were at the rally and have a lot more info. There was a counter "rally" put on by 10 or so illegal aliens and their supporters, which mostly appear to be socialists who don't believe in borders or laws.
