Betty Blair, 77, was tied up and strangled by three hurricane evacuees whom she had helped. Blair met them in a church where she volunteered. She helped them out by hiring them for odd jobs like cutting her grass. Blair's daughter found her Friday night in her home. The three were arrested by police when they tracked Blair's car. One of the suspects had her 10-month-old son with her in the car when they were arrested.
I don't know what to say. You're expected to help people, but more often than not in this country you get either taken advantage of or in some way deceived (i.e. "thanks for the donation now we'll just toss each survivor an unmonitored $2,000 that they can use for whatever they want")
A Texas woman was allegedly robbed and killed by three hurricane evacuees she befriended after meeting them at her church, according to Pasadena, Texas, police.
Three suspects -- all described as hurricane evacuees -- were arrested Friday evening after police located the dead woman's missing car through its OnStar electronic tracking system, Mitchell said.
"Unfortunately, it looks like her good will cost her her life," Mitchell said.
