Educating Children Of Illegal Aliens Costs $28.6 Billion Per Year

The latest estimated costs of educating the children of illegal aliens is out and it is set at an astounding $28.6 billion per year to the taxpayers of the United States. The report Breaking the Piggy Bank: How Illegal Immigration is Sending Schools Into the Red by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) does not include additional costs such as free and low cost lunches or English as a Second Language (ESL) costs.

The cost that no one can truly estimate is the loss of time and attention given to the legal kids in this country due to the attention having to be spent on illegal kids and the large classroom sizes. The next time you hear a teacher complain about salary ask them what they've done to fight illegal immigration recently. It's amusing how the teachers unions in California are attacking Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on education spending, but this same group does nothing to promote closing the border in order to free up even more money for their teachers.

... Estimates based on Census Bureau data, suggest that there are about 1.5 million illegal alien children and an additional 2 million U.S.-born children of illegal aliens in K-12 classrooms across the country.
California, at $7.7 billion a year, leads the nation in expenditures for education of the children of illegal aliens, but five other states also have costs in excess of a billion dollars annually.

According to a January report by the investment firm Bear Stearns, about one-third of all illegal aliens employed in the U.S. are working off-the-books, so no direct payroll taxes are being collected. Most of the rest are working for very low wages, meaning that tax withholding can cover only a small fraction of the cost of educating a single child, much less several children in the family.
According to Breaking the Piggy Bank, the costs of educating the children of illegal aliens contribute to massive education deficits in states like California. If it were not for these costs, according to the report, the red ink could be eliminated, and there would be additional funds left over to make meaningful improvements in education.

1. The Presidents Illegal Alien bill is nothing more than an ill disguised plan for rewarding people for breaking our laws! It will only encourage more millions of Illegal Aliens to pour across our borders like Ex-President Clintons bill! It sends a message to one and all, our Laws were not Intended or Passed to be Enforced, come on across our borders, and we will reward you sooner or later! In the meantime enjoy Billions in benefits at American Citizens expense, both in benefits and lost of jobs!

If laws and the respect for laws are only a political convenient then it seems only fair that Americans citizens can & should, also break our laws with impunity!

2. In a time of Federal Deficits that should make all politicians ashamed, it seems that people here Illegally should not be feeding at the public trough at the expense of Law bidding ,Working, Tax Paying, American citizens!

3. When, due to the Hurricanes cost, politicians are forced to even consider, maybe, cutting back on pork barrel spending it is somewhat telling there is know mention of the 10,s or 100,s of Billions that in excess of 20 million Illegal Aliens are costing this country! Maybe it shows where their real priorities lay! It does not seem to be in the interest of Working American citizens of all races!

4. It seems like politicians in both parties fall back on the excuse of diversity and immigration to support rewarding criminals in the guise of providing an unlimited supply of nearly slave labor to businesses! As had been abundantly demonstrated in recent years, Business officials & Businesses owners will go to any lengths to increase profits, so they can reward their unlimited greed with bigger salaries and benefits! While letting the tax payers pay Billions in taxes to pay for the benefits Illegal Aliens are so adapt at getting from all levels of Government.

5. While all Americans are aware of the contributions a sane fair policy on lawful Immigrations has played in building this country, I do not think their understanding applies to Illegal Immigration! If we are going to let a hostile, corrupt, Government on our Border export their poverty here to avoid addressing the corruption there and improving their peoples living standards than, maybe, we invaded the wrong country! Meantime, Mexico’s number one source of income is remittance of money taken from working Americans & American by Illegal Aliens and returned to Mexico!

6. I, will along with millions of other Americans Citizens will be very interested in the criteria used in selecting how many and for what reason green cards are rewarded to Illegal Aliens.

A. Will it be as a reward to profitable businesses for contributions to politicians and/or political parties so businesses and management can avoid paying a livable wage to American citizens? Like has occurred, in the constructed business where we have seen 10,s of thousands of working American citizens slip into poverty because they must accept Illegal Aliens wages, while the selling price of homes are soaring!.

B. Or will it be a reward to businesses that do not have a viable business plan and cannot afford to pay a livable wage to American citizens and must be subsidized by American tax payers?

C. Or will it be both A & B?

Stop going after the illegal aliens. The ones you should be going after are the corporations. If the corporations run out of cheap labor then they are just going to go overseas! even if you stop illegal immigration you will eventually still lose your jobs and way of life because the corporations are all going to end up overseas! This is about corporate greed!The day will come when we will be in the same boat as the illegals. We are all being manipulated by the rich. I'm asking all of you to stop going after the weak and poor! Grow some cajones and demand that corporations around the world share their profits with the workers. If they do this then people wont have to come here!
