Senator Saxby Chambliss (R-GA), it appears did not receive the required 50% he needed to avoid a runoff against his opponent Democrat Jim Martin. With current vote totals, Chambliss has a 49.8 percent to 46.8 lead with a Liberterian candidate in the race receiving 3% of the vote, which would lead to a December 2 runoff. Both camps are saying that their presidential candidates for their party will be coming and campaigning for them. McCain is almost assured for Chambliss and president-elect Obama, hoping to win one more Senate Seat for the Dems, will most assuredly come for Martin and bring the full weight of the Democratic party with him.

Dems are three seats away from holding a super majority in the Senate. There are three races up for grabs. Dirtball and disgraced Alaskan Republican Senator Ted Stevens, Republican Senator Norm Coleman who faces a recount against unfunny comedian Al Franken and Chambliss. If these three races turn for the Dems they have a super majority. As much as I am concerned about that I am even more concerned about continuing to have Chambliss in the Senate to fight against amnesty for illegal aliens and you should be too.
