I worked with Nick Erfle. He is one of the heroes you hear about every single day. His death is a scar upon our hearts and our land. This slime bag Martinez has been deported TWICE and keeps coming back. Then, because he can't follow rules and laws, he kills a police officer because the false name he gave, Anthony Sanchez (there are only 3,560 in Phoenix alone) had a MISdemeanor warrant, he felt it necessary to shoot this almost 10 year veteran of the Phoenix Police Department. That was all to prevent cops from learning that he had FELONY warrants under his real slime name of Erik Martinez. The two females who were with him? Claim they had no idea who Erik was. They knew him by his GANG name of Droopy.

I am incensed by this. I have lost five friends over the last nine years. Killed by slimebags who refuse to obey the laws of the land. All shot in the head I might add. The wackos are getting wise! The cops wear vests! Shoot 'em in the head! You kill 'em really dead!

My heroes do everything and give the ultimate to keep us relatively safe. I'm sick of these people coming over here from Mexico and doing whatever they damn well please. I am so very sorry for Nick's family, wife, kids, friends. The people who brought that piece of crap into this world, and those who befriended him should be taken out back and executed.

Every time there is a tragedy like this we all think that this is the one that will put is over the edge. When the students were killed in New Jersey I thought that would be the tipping point. I don't know what it will take but I hope things will tip soon.

Most people run for office in order to get the "freebies". On the national level you become a millionaire, but first you have to go through the local bull. On the National level you have a staff in one hand with the other behind your back for those "donations" to your campaign fund, hmmm. That money is yours whether you run for office again or not. In real life it's called a bribe, in political life it's a "donation." The next time a police officer pulls you over, give him a "donation" to fail to appear for your court date. "Donations" go to the political elite for them to think about passing or not passing certain legislature before them. The junior Senator from Texas, a few years back, made $2,500,000. "thinking," in one term. Let's all start "thinking" and accepting "donations."

I'm a cousin of Nick's, but never knew him. My Mom is the oldest of his late Mom's brothers and sisters. I don't have any problem with these people being here, if they are legal and temporary workers. They work for a season and then go home, which is not here. Allow them to cross over as adults, but with no children. If Children are born here, they are no citizens(and they shouldn't be citizens TODAY as illegals). Allow them to easily obtain a permit to temporarily work here, but enforce the termination/expiration date. Employ no one without one.

This is absolutely heart breaking. After battling cancer twice to loose your life in such a horribly violent way it's just so incredibly unfair and wrong. I feel so sad for his family, friend’s coworkers and his community. All loss of life is tragic but at such a young age and with a family left behind it is just absolutely devastating.

I know that the problem of illegal immigrants is multilayer and far reaching; it is something that needs to change. The consequences are unbearable.

What I want to ask however is that this tragedy not spur racism. There is a difference between being aware of situations and turning those situations into a blanket racist generalization. I believe that a wonderful person like Officer Nick Erfle would not want his life to bring out hatred and racism in others. Illegal immigration is an obviously serious problem. However to generalize all immigrants or all Mexicans is nothing but pure racism. Many immigrants come here because their loved ones have been shot and killed in their own country and they fear for their lives or the lives of their children. The man who killed this brave officer is a despicable horrible coward and I hate to say it but I'm glad he isn't alive anymore to hurt anyone else, but please don't let this tragedy bring out more tragedy. Racism and hatred will not solve this or bring Officer Nick Erfle back. Mr.Erfle could have been killed by an American gang member or local lunatic or celebrity drunk driver just as easily. It is the person who commits the crime not their race or origin. Just remember that the United States like all countries is full of dangerous violent criminals who were born and raised there. In fact we elected one as President. (Sorry had to lighten the sadness with a little humor).

I pray for Nick Erfle's wife and children, I hope that they will be comforted by the love and memory of their brave hero. I can't imagine the pain they are growing through. On that fateful day that two men died one left the world an incredible hero and the other died a horrible vicious murderer. Mr. Erfle's family friends and community can be so proud of him, few men die true heroes. His life was heart wrenchingly unfairly short but it was clearly a life lived with tremendous character and courage. That is the greatest victory in this world; a life well lived. How many of us will be remembered as heroes? So in Officer Nick Erfles memory I say congratulations to him for being the kind of human being that makes this world a better place. I wish there were more Nick Erfle's in the world but, I guess that part of what makes a man like this so special; there aren't many men like him. We can all learn from him and his brave life. What an incredible human being!

You're confusing the issue here. If it had been a black guy who shot and killed him, would you be raging against all blacks? If it had been a white guy, would you be raging against whites? The guy was scum, and he murdered a police office. Yes, he was illegal, but we have plenty of home grown American scum as well.

i think we need to remember this is a crime and a regrettable tragedy BUT its not a immigrant issue because we have drugies who kill in US everyday and street gangs who are US citizens who kill innocent children and peados who are nut cases.
