Ever played Oregon Trail?

Most of us children of the Eighties probably remember toiling away on Apple IIe's in school trying to get our group of pioneers across the vast US while shooting buffalo, braving the stinging cold of the cascade mountains, driving our oxen across rivers and all the while having our families contract cholera and dysentery.

Well there's a version online and I played it tonight. The children gathered around me glued to the monitor and they hooted with glee when the other one broke an arm or leg or caught a fever. Unfortunately they both died on the journey, though I did manage to get the wife, myself and the non-existent third child we don't have -- whom I aptly named Booty -- down the final river and to the landing spot in Oregon.
