Three Romanian journalists have been taken hostage in Iraq. Details are currently sketchy and it is not known which group has taken them. It could be a kidnap for ransom -- thanks to all the countries who keep paying these thugs -- or it could be a politically motivated hostage taking. Romania has 800 troops in Iraq supporting the coalition.

Three Romanian journalists had finished interviewing Iraq's interim prime minister hours earlier when one of them sent an ominous text message back to her newsroom: "Help, this is not a joke, we've been kidnapped."

The three were abducted Monday night near their Baghdad hotel, officials said Tuesday - the latest journalists to be taken hostage in Iraq.

They were identified as reporter Marie Jeanne Ion, 32, and cameraman Sorin Dumitru Miscoci, 30, from Bucharest-based television station Prima TV, and Romania Libera reporter Ovidiu Ohanesian, 37.

I JUST HOPE (AS EVERYBODY) THE JOURNALISTS WILL COME HOME SOON AND SAFE!!! THAT IS ALL THAT COUNTS!!! I THINK THE PERSONS WHO COULD MAKE THIS POSSIBLE SHOULD ACTUALLY DO THEIR BEST TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN EVEN IF THAT WOULD MEAN TO WITHDRAW THE ROMANIAN TROOPS FROM IRAQ. (MARIA-BUCHAREST)

Please let the inocents alone, it's not their foult for the troops in Iraq or in other parts of Islamic Teritories. Have a heart and let them go home. We romanians are against the ocupation of Iraq and want no war with the arab world. If more innocents are killed will only determine hate from all. And we are just like you, we will probebly not forget it. LET THEM LIVE PLEASE. We romanians are against that war.

romania was from the time of ceausescu a partner of iraq, these two nations were always in good relasionship, but if you kill them things will never be the same, a friend is better than an enemy.
romania is not the enemy of iraq, romania want only to help our iraqi brothers, so i don't think that killing a brother is a good thing
