Sure the headline sounds silly, but it's true. There were over 10,000 Americans and British nationals who were in the country illegally according to a report by Australia's Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs. I've been to Australia (Sydney and Townsville) and I don't blame a single one of those illegal alien deviants for trying to remain there as long as they can.

The report on immigration trends released by Australia's Immigration Minister Amanda Vanstone on January 20 found that on June 30 2004 there were 10,000 Britons and Americans who had overstayed their visas and were in Australia illegally. The next biggest groups were 3,900 Chinese, 3,000 Indonesians and 2,800 South Koreans. People from Middle Eastern countries hardly appeared in the statistics at all despite being at the centre of numerous illegal immigration controversies over the past few years.
The report also mentions that Australias current total population is 20.1 million. I didn't realize it was that small!
You said in the article there are not many illegal aliens from middle eastern countries. Do you know why ?They can apply for a refugees status and can get a permanent residency easily so that is why there are not many illegal aliens from middle eastern countries. So please correct the article. I am from Asia. It is so hard for me to get a permanent residency here. But for the people from middle eastern countries it seems easy because they can apply as refugee and can get a permanent residency.
